IVECO Eurocargo Sweeps into Europe’s Largest Fleet with Dawsongroup

IVECO are thrilled to announce a significant addition to Europe’s largest fleet of roadsweepers in partnership with Dawsongroup plc. Together, they’re paving the way for cleaner, safer streets with the delivery of 75 robust IVECO Eurocargo 16-tonne municipality vehicles (ML160E22K), equipped with Bucher Municipal sweeper bodies.

Roadsweepers play a crucial role in maintaining urban cleanliness, and durability is paramount for such demanding tasks. That’s why the Eurocargo stands out as the perfect platform, boasting a purpose-built sweeper chassis tailored for challenging missions, with excellent manoeuvrability in bustling city environments.

Partnering with Bucher Municipal, renowned for their expertise, each Eurocargo is outfitted with a truck-mounted sweeper body, taking full advantage of the 16-tonne GVW for exceptional functionality and robustness. With a payload of approximately 6,600kg, these vehicles are built to handle the toughest of tasks.

Safety is a top priority for Dawsongroup, with each vehicle featuring left-hand drive configuration and FORS standard safety equipment to ensure safe operation, particularly in urban areas like London. Additionally, all vehicles are equipped with Chapter 8 rear signage and 360-degree cameras to enhance visibility and meet stringent DSV standards.

The Eurocargo boasts a highly efficient 220hp Tector 7 six-cylinder diesel engine paired with a 12-speed automated gearbox, delivering ample power and torque while meeting the latest Euro VI emission requirements.

Supplied by Northern Commercials Brighouse, Dawsongroup has a history of trust in IVECO products, with previous Eurocargo roadsweepers having served reliably for four years.

“We have run IVECO products before so we know they are very strong and practical for these tough operating conditions. We have already seen some vehicles go out on longer term hire with councils.

All of our IVECO roadsweepers have been supplied by Northern Commercials Brighouse who are based on the same industrial estate as us. Geographically they are very handy, but we always receive great service and have built up an excellent relationship over the years. We have worked together for a long time, something that makes this a strong partnership.”

Moreover, each Eurocargo roadsweeper comes with an IVECO Planned Repair & Maintenance service contract, providing Dawsongroup with predictable maintenance costs and ensuring continuous uptime for their fleet.

Last year, Dawsongroup expanded their mission capabilities further by ordering 270 IVECO Daily 3.5-tonne vehicles in multiple configurations, offering customers even more choice and versatility.
