VOSA given power to stop

In a recent article from the Roadway News, it was highlighted that officers from the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) will have the power to stop commercial vehicles thought to be dangerous. VOSA will be able to check whether vehicles have been over-loaded, or breaking various driving hours’ rules.

The changes have been set out by Philip Hammond, Transport Secretary, and the aim is to crack down on poor road practice and to ensure vehicles are not dangerous on the roads.

At Northern Commercials, vehicle safety is a priority and with the careful servicing at all of our dealerships in Leeds, Brighouse and Manchester, we ensure Iveco and Fiat Professional vans and trucks are fit to be on the roads. Nigel Chafer, General Service Manager at Northern Commercials said, “Within our service department we ensure a thorough examination of all vehicles to a very high standard, this gives confidence to all our customers that their vehicles are well maintained and safe. If you ever want to discuss the safety of your commercial vehicles we’re always happy to help.”
