CILT elects a new international president

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) has elected a new international president Dr Dorothy Chan, taking over from Alan Waller from 1st January 2013.

Dr Chan’s career in the transport sector of Hong Kong has included the post of deputy commissioner for transport, and she has also served as the CILT’s international vice president and Chair of the Membership & Education Committee. IN 2012 she was awarded the International President’s Medal by Professor Waller.

“With Dorothy as president, the institute will be in good hands to further develop our agenda of growth for the supply chain and transport profession in today’s competitive economy,” said Professor Waller.

Dr Chan said “Promoting the knowledge and professional development of logistics and transport has been the Institute’s mission, echoing my sentiments in many ways; it is my hope that our members will be credited not only for improving the mobility of society, but also for creating a better society. My current work in education reinforces my belief that our young members will create a dynamic future for our profession.”
